Our Love Story

It all started with a little fate, or perhaps a bit of luck. Gbemiga moved to Milton Keynes from Manchester in May 2017. Being new in town, he was excited to explore the town’s nightlife and decided to reach out to his friends to find out about any exciting events going on that night.

His friends happened to be going out and so invited him to join them. Little did he know that he would meet the queen of his dreams on that night.

Twyla on the other hand, was already tucked in bed and she really didn’t want to be out that night but her friend couldn’t stop blowing up her phone and calling her a grandma for being in bed at 9pm on a Saturday night. She eventually succumbed to the pressure and joined her friends out.

Let Gbemiga tell it. "As soon as I stepped into that bar/restaurant, the first person I noticed was Twyla and I was instantly smitten. I had never seen so much beauty, elegance and cuteness all in one person. I quickly took a couple of sneaky pictures of Twyla from a distance to share with my guys (cheeky I know lol) before I had the opportunity to say hello to her."

He walked over to their table to say hello and upon shaking her hand, he knew straight away that this was someone he wanted around for a long time. They exchanged numbers and stayed in contact.

After a few texts and phone calls, they decided to meet up and they hit it off straight away like they’d been friends for a long time.

Following a few months of being great friends, things progressed, and they started dating. As their relationship blossomed, they became inseparable and at that point Gbemiga was certain he had found the one whom his soul loves and he decided to pop the question on Twyla’s birthday trip in Gran Canaria, Spain and she said yes! Thus, their love story continues...

A special thanks to THAT friend, Prisca, who unknowingly played cupid that day. A simple night out turned into walking down the aisle at Wrenbury Hall.
